This second module allows
the student to utilise all the techniques
they have gained in the Dance Studies module
in performance based classes and also to
combine these with a variety of other skills,
including Vocal Studies and Drama.
Repertoire (classical and
jazz) is an important component of this
module which equips students with many of
the skills necessary for a career in the
professional theatre, whilst providing opportunities
to learn and perform in a variety of different
genres and styles.
The expertise developed
by this module is put into practice during
the many performance opportunities available
to NBS students and covers most important
aspects of live theatre, including Stagecraft,
Make-Up, Costuming, ‘Props’
Management, Microphone Technique and the
basics of stage lighting and design, as
well as providing an introduction to auditioning
and casting procedure and rehearsal scheduling
and disciplines.
